Furnace replacement

Ductwork repair and replacement

We repair and replace ductwork as part of a system replacement, because quoting equipment without looking at the ducts is how systems end up disappointing.

Replacement makes sense where ductwork is physically failing — crushed, disconnected, torn or sagging between supports, all common in Sacramento-area attics where flex duct degrades with heat and time — or where returns are badly undersized and limiting airflow. Where the layout is sound and the issue is leakage at joints, sealing is often the better value and we will say so.

What a full change-out involves

One to two days depending on ductwork, venting and electrical. Old equipment removed and refrigerant recovered properly. New equipment set, connected and vented to code. Condensate routed. Then the system is pulled into vacuum, charged to specification and commissioned — airflow measured, gas pressure and temperature rise checked on the furnace, safety controls verified and the thermostat configured.

We pull the permit and the work is inspected, so the installation is documented for resale.
